These days, when I go for a walk, I see a lot of people walking their dogs.

요즘은 산책을 하러 밖에 나가면 많은 사람들이 강아지를 산책시키는 모습을 볼 수 있다.

 

▶hatch an egg 알을 부화시키다

I also remember videos of a person who hatched an egg and kept the chicken as a pet.

집에서 직접 부화시킨 닭을 애완 동물로 키우는 사람의 영상을 본 긱억도 있다. 

 

▶cold-hearted 삭막한, 냉담한

Modern society often feels cold-hearted.

삭막하게 느껴질때가 많은 현대사회에서

 

▶dote on 에 애정을 쏟다

Perhaps people need something or someone to dote on.

애정을 쏟을 대상이 필요해서일지도 모른다. 

 

▶raise a pet 애완동물을 키우다

▶sense of responsibility 책임감

▶to the very end 끝까지

But raising a pet requires a strong sense of responsibility, to keep it to the very end. 

그러나 반려동물을 키우려면 끝까지 키우겠다는 강한 책임감이 필요하다.

 

▶be in a dilemma 고민중이다

I am in a delemma because my son wants a pet dog.

내 아들이 강아지를 사 달라고 해서 고민이야.

 

▶don't feel up to ~할 엄두가 나지 않다

But I suppose you don't feel up to having a dog.

그런데, 강아지를 키울 엄두가 안 나는구나.

 

▶see someone as ~를 ~으로 간주하다

▶member of the family 가족 구성원

We see her as another member of the family now.

이제는 가족이 하나 더 생긴 기분이야
